THE PODCAST | 1:1 COACHING | INSTAGRAM
Is perfectionism keeping you from moving forward in your business? If so, you’re not alone. My guest, holistic health coach Audrey Dunn, has faced the same struggle. In this coaching session, we dive into how perfectionism, while often seen as a roadblock, can actually be a strength when it’s approached with the right mindset.
Audrey shares how her detail-oriented nature has helped her succeed in school and in her career. However, it has also led to paralysis when starting something new. She feels she needs to be perfectly healed before she can take on clients, often second-guessing herself with questions like, Am I good enough? And Will I be the coach they need? However, she also recognizes that in order to continue to grow her confidence, she needs the experience.
Taking action despite fear
Although fear of imperfection has slowed her down, Audrey has proven to herself time and time again that she can do hard things. She has taken huge leaps before, like quitting her corporate job and moving across the country with her best friends. Audrey believes that everything you want is on the other side of fear, and through our conversation, she starts to apply that belief to her coaching journey as well.
Recognizing the proof of her success
Audrey’s personal health transformation speaks for itself. She has healed her gut, restored her period after 5 years, cleared hormonal acne, regrew her hair, and regulated her nervous system, all without a coach to guide her. Not only that, but she has helped friends, family, and clients achieve similar results
I encourage Audrey to write down all of these proof points to remind herself of the incredible results she’s helped people gain. This task is so powerful and can truly shift your energy and speak directly to the problem.
Leaning into authentic marketing
Another suggestion I provide to her is to offer complimentary calls. Everyone’s health journey is different, so there’s no way of knowing if we can help someone until we actually get into a conversation with them. It’s also something that can relieve a lot of pressure. Audrey actually switched over to this strategy recently, which has not only attracted her ideal clients, but has also made them feel seen, heard, and understood.
Embracing perfectionism as a strength
Through our conversation, Audrey gains a lot of empowerment. She realizes that her perfectionism isn’t a weakness, but rather something that makes her an incredible coach. She now sees that striving for excellence isn’t about waiting until she’s “ready,” but about trusting the value she already brings. With this new mindset, she’s ready to move forward—no more holding back, no more excuses.
